I havn't either. I asked the zoo vet where Im studying and she says its not been done but it may be possible however no reseach has been done as to hormone problems and behavioural changes it would cause. |

How old is the female? if the worst comes round, most rep shops will incubate eggs for you, and agree on price of each hatchling as well.
I know it means giving the eggs away, but they'll usually give either 5-10 quid per snake that hatches, or shop credit. |

If it is possible I dont understand how someone can justify doing it to a snake. |

Radiation is the only guaranteed way. But it's not likely they'll survive. That's the only way i can think of it being possible. |

Yep dead snakes cant bread!
On a more serious note if your want to co-habit read about the risks first and then get both snakes sexed by a reputable herp expert. Good luck.

Hi Anna
Whichever you decide to buy, male or female, will really involve getting another set up or RUB. As you've said yourself putting a female with your male will result in an unwanted clutch, although as said most rep shops will take the eggs for you.
Putting another male in is really not a good idea as they will fight for territory and can result in some nasty bites.
Now if you had a female, putting another female in would be tolerated by both snakes.
Good luck with the decision making.
