Your snake doesn't hate you, it's just still settling in.

Move slowly and let it get used to you with regular handling and you'll be fine. Try putting one of your gloves in the viv with it and it should speed up your snake getting used to your scent. Once your snake senses that you aren't a threat it will become more friendly.

Has for the heat mat, best off putting the thermometer on the substrate as this is where your snake is, so you need to know the temps your snake is feeling.

Have you got a stat with the mat? The mat shouldn't really feel hot, just warm really.

Corns only poo about once a week, if you feed once a week too.

Hi,

We've only had our corn for a couple of weeks, but there are plenty of books full of advice, and any reptile shop are very helpfull, But what we were told is. Corn snakes are very shy so you have to be calm and steady with it, When you approche the viv, do it slowly, and when you reach in show it you emply hand, (Make sure your hand is clean, we use anti bac gel) Handly him 2 or 3 times daily for as long as you like, making sure you don't make loud noises and fast movements. if they are upset there tail will shake ( like the Rattle snake ) and it will rear his head up, this hasn't happend to us yet. This is what we was told by our local reptile shop.

Hope I've helped a little.

I have a problem about going near my vivs to megan. If i go near mine and my snakes see me, they assume they're coming out to play!!!
Like everyone says, with regular appearances and visits, th snake will settle nicely.

handling once or twice a day but for shorter periods of time is best, particularly if it is a young snake. after 5, 10, or 15 mins if the snake has relaxed or cooled down, pop him back in the viv.

i wouldn't worry about the small amount of poop, he's probably absorbed all the nutrients from his pinkies, then they just poop what they can't digest
