I was just looking through the pinkies I had to take one out to defrost, but then I noticed that most of them had strange white spots all over them, and some were even tinged green...

I was just wondering, I'm new to keeping snakes, this would only be her fourth feeding with me, is this normal?
The one I'm defrosting now had only a tiny white spot, but I'm gonna wait till I get a reply before feeding her it...
I don't want to give her something thats potentially harmful..

The white spots are freezer burns, it is where the pinky has been exposed to the air whilst frozen. a small amout of freezer burn wont harm your snake. But you say some have green around the edges, these i would chuck.

52 corns,5 sinaloans,2 florida kings, 2 cali kings, 2 royal pythons,
3 blood pythons, 3 mexican hoggies, 3 western hoggies, 3 baja rosy boas, 2 mexican rosy boas.

They are not stupid questions at all!
Everybody has to learn, and its better that you do ask, so that you know your not putting your snake at harm.

Before i knew what freezer burn spots were, i used to chuck away the mice that had it.
I'm such a sily sausage

Have you had the pinkies for long? The chances of freezer burn increase with the amount of time spent in the freezer. It doesn't damage the snake to eat pinkies with freezer burn but it does reduce the quality of the food.

Hm, I've had them for about a fortnight night...I've got a tendency to buy about ten and then toss them in the freezer.
Hm, thing is though, Astra ate two earlier today, so I think I'm gonna maybe move her onto fluffs soon... I'm not sure if 5-6 months old is the right time though..
But she ate the two pinks happily.

She may of eaten them happily but was there much of a bump in her belly after eating???? If there was not a large bulge you could try her on fuzzies, but if there was a bulge stay on pinkies.

there was a bulge, but not a very big one...
I'll be giving her two more pinkies next feed most likely, just so the ones I still have don't go to waste, you know?
Or should I just give her a fluff?

they can take a whole heap more than you would believe, I would have 99% of corns on fuzzies by 6 months without thinking about it

ooops, I bought another.........

Hm, I did actually end up giving her the smallest fluff in the bag whilst she ate happily, so it was all good :)
