Hi all
This may seem a way out there question but I was chatting to someone the other day, (not a snake keeper) who told me that snakes carry salmonella bacteria and that My little girl could contract it from the snakes, has anyone got any data on this as it has me a bit on edge
One of these snakes are hers and she loves handling it.
Best Regard

hiya, there is a small risk as they ca carry salmonela, but as long as you have a good hygene protocol in place, i.e. washing your hands before and after holding then the risk in very minimal. hope this helps. |
lost track of the day's now, but I'm getting my amel stripe corn on the 2nd of August!!! |

Yeah, Anti bac get is fine. Proper reptile anti-bac gel costs alot. Some from a pound shop (nice find kaz) works just as well. |

if it helps reassure you the risk is minimal, particularly with relatively low humidy snakes such as corns |
