Hey i've noticed some little insects in gump's viv. They dont seem to be on him or bothering him and they kinda look like tiny little ants. I dont think that they are mites and have checked his scales and eyes for any signs and see none. Should I still be worrying though?

Well the whole thing is new as our mate who has him before only had him in a 2 1/2 ft viv when he was 4ft long. Also got a branch(from the reptile shop)some of his old hides and the substrate

if you can't see any on him, then I would say the safest thing to do would be to take all his hides etc. out and sterilise them. you can do this by soaking them in a bleach solution and them in the oven for a00bout an hour. As for the substrate, if you have got some fresh, you could place it in a large microwave bowl and zzap it in the microwave for about 1 min and this should kill any bugs in there. hope this helps. scott

lost track of the day's now, but I'm getting my amel stripe corn on the 2nd of August!!!

Do you tend to find them in the water bowl?
I know when I got my new substrate there were lil bugs in it but they went within a few days as the substrate dried out and caused no harm at all.
