I was bitten by my Sunglow Corn Snake on Friday while feeding her. She drew blood and I'm slightly worried about us both. Firstly, will she be okay and secondly, do I require a tetanus jab? She's about a year old now and she moves fast!!!!

Thanks!

well as you posted this today and are still living i wouldnt worry bout it i was bitten by a western hognosed snake a few years ago now and it drew blood and my hand swelled up but with a couple of anti histamines and a good nights rest we were both fine the following day, sounds like ur pinkies were somewhat in the way of ur snakie having his/her tea or dinner. word of advice USE A PAIR OF TONGUES OR TWEEZERS saves getting the pinkies tagged lol

I recon you will be fine. They can lose teeth (and leave them in your hand) when they bite, but im sure you would have noticed if you had any in you.

I've just made sure my bites have been well coated in antiseptic and they've healed in 3 days.

snakes don't carry tetanus and they're not in contact with soil (that can harbour tetanus bacteria) so you should be fine

just wash bite area well and you should be ok, if it had just eaten a mouse thats been laying around for a few hours then antiseptic would be a priority

Oops, am I the only one then that when i've been tagged just wipes the blood off on a work rag, then carries on with my day??

That might explain why I only have 3 fingers and 7 toes.
