the instructions with my thermostat say to position the sensor 9inches away from the heat source, as i have only got the smallest exo terra viv this isnt possible. where is the best place to position the heater to achieve the best results |

they come out with some complete cr@p for instructions! lay the probe on the substrate above the heatmat, don't trust the dial on the stat, check the temperature manually with a thermometer then adjust the control on the stat accordingly |

all set up, but as usually more questions arise lol.. the microclimate heatmat doesnt come with self adesive like the exo terra one, is it ok 2 lay the heat mat directly under the glass exo terra viv or should i get a way to stick it on?

I use a book to press the heat mat against the glass - there needs to be contact for the heat to transfer. I also tape them on to some of my other tanks, but the tape gets a bit sticky and melty depending on the temperature.. |

aww thats a gd idea, just got an old CD out (avnt got many books lol) and thats worked well :D thanks 4 the advice :D |
