Hello my name is Matt. I have just got a corn snake called connie. She was born in July . Got her on Saturday and is in a nursing box at the moment with a heat pad covering half of the bottom. We have not seen her come out of her cave since we put her in, we know she has come out at some point because their was some dirt she left in the corner. Is this normal for her to spend so much time in her cave and not to come out.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
Yes on 2 counts, she's only just settling in so is probably nervous. Also, they are nocturnal so will naturally be more active at night. |

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum. I agree with the two points above. When she settles in (normaly after a week) she will start to explore more. She will be quite active in the evenings. |

Heya and welcome Matt, leave her alone to settle in for a week, just change her water and a quick peek under her hide to make sure she's ok and still there - corns are excellent escape artists! after a week start handling her for short periods of time 5-10 mins, if she seems happy enough then handle her for longer. make sure you don't handle her for 48hours after a feed though as this may make her regurgitate the pinky. |

Hi & welcome Bubbles is rarely out and about until 8/9pm - during the day he's normally either in his warm hide or up his tree sleeping. |
