It doesn't matter, except that it may remove some of the scent that makes the snake attack it.
Also, I wouldn't leave it to cool to room temperature, keep it nice and warm. |

this is the way that most people do it, you may be better off putting the mouse in a bag before putting it in the water so it doesnt wash the scent away |

I use hot water in a mug, Slim still goes for it, if he starts not eating I might try the freezer bag though. |

I always jsut defrost my miec over the course of a day - day 1/2 in a plastic sandwich box with the lid on. This way it defrosts naturally, and gets REALLY smelly. Tartan loves it :D |

Hehe my pinkies defrost in an hour at room temp then I wrap them in kitchen roll and pop them under the hot tap to warm them up. They tend to bleed at this point so theres plenty of scent on them when feeding. |

I have tried both ways - Bubbles tends to prefer them defrosted at room temp but maybe I'll try the plastic bag in water method, because even at room temp I think they are still a little cold. Either that or the hairdryer!
Bubbles has been a bit of a fussy eater the last couple of weeks - he was on two pinkies for 3 weeks without any problems then last week he only ate one and turned his nose up at the other. This weekend he showed no interest in any of his mice so I thought I'd warm them a bit more and put them in some warm water - still no interest. We left him a bit and he came back to them and ate both eventually. I think I'll try him on fuzzies next. |

ooo i defrost mines like that. I was told its ok as long as water isnt like boiling just luke warm is what i do. But of course skittles escaped so i wont be doing that for a while if i get him lol. But i think thats fine if you put it in a sandwich bag or something then put it in the water. Maby i am repeating what someone has said, i cant be bothered reading replies so if you have heard all this before then sorry |

You may think this is a bit gross, but I keep a frozen mouse in my pocket for half an hour, wrapped in a couple of bits of kitchen towel. Reminds me to feed her. |

I used to be a bit worse than that, i used to gently press the mouse against my top lip to make sure it wasn't to hot inside still. But i use hot water (from tap, not kettle) to defrost mine. |
