I keep mine on the floor with a thermostat but if he has lived for 15 years with it in that position then I see no need to change it now. Would be good if you put up some pics of him- most of us have youngsters so it would be great to see a mature Corn snake. Welcome to the forum! |

Hi, and welcome to this jolly great and best in the world* forum. As per above post, if he's lived in that viv for most of his life, then why change it?? Depends on his temps, but if they're good, then leave it. Got pics up yet, we all love pics, especially of older snakes.
Although it's true, i just wondered if my cheque is in the post Lewy??? |

also forgot to say night temps around 66f. day temps around 82f with the help of a small light bulb he or she sleeps far end of the viv where the mat is not. as not been handled for a long so can be a bit funny when you wont to get him or she out but once out great.we have only had him about a week but because of age it would be nice to do every thing right to hopefully get another 5-10 years out of him. |

welcome to the forum bikesfred54
personally i find putting the heatmat on the floor of the viv a more effective way of providing a heat source but it's down to personal preference. |

hi and welcome, i put all my mats on the floor of my vivs so the heat waves can rise, but its up to you, this could start a debate cause most snakes in the wild take heat from above when the bask in the sun |
