well the temp still has to stay between 28-30 if it falls below that you will have to leave it on we had to adjust the mats with the heat over the last few days the temps jumped

its best to leave them on, the substrate temp needs to be as close to a constant as possible

it will turn its self off at the right temp aslong as you have a stat
