Hi im a new keeper i have i nice size viv with correst mat size and thermostat my temp is fine throughout the day but at night when the lights off, my tem drops to betwwen 21 and 23 even though the mat is still on my corn seems ok as during this time he heads to the colder side anyway. any tips?

Where are you measuring the temperature from?
What are you measuring the temperature with?
What is the vivfaun made of (glass,wood etc)?
Where is the heatmat? (underneath, inside...)?

Also, do you mean you have a heat lamp in the viv?

i have the thermostatat sensor on the warm side and digital thermometer? and a thermometer on cold side
no heat lamp as ive been advised against it on here. just a day light low watt bulb which i turn off at night? how long should i leave it off? and the mat is inside and its made of wood. where is the correct possistion to place the thermostat sensor.

Thermostat probe should be directly on the heatmat with the digital therm. There should only be a light covering of substrate over the heat mat.

Is the bulb guarded.

thats fine for night temperatures, what do you have during the day on the warm side?

thanks guys i have a guard over the bulb. ive now rectified the sensor issue thats all it was. everything is great now. thanks for your help
