context is a wonderful thing. its a shame everything is judged in such away when its completely wrong, anyhoo, thanks for the reply, he shed about two weeks ago and has fed since then which is why I was concerned.

I know it seems strange having your part of your word taken out of context Jamie, but remember that it is a computer that is doing the controlling of the language on here and all the admin can do is programme in all the words they dont want used....but it does mean that the programme isnt foolproof and it will asterisk out an unacceptable word even if it is used within an other word and is therefore acceptable....if that makes sense. I would much rather we had that system that allow bad language to slip in as this is a family forum....and you cant expect the admin and mods to check every post personally, it has to be something done by computer programme - which is not infallible, as we all know.

So glad that you managed to get Albie to eat, well done for braining the pinkie....it does make a big difference to them sometimes getting the smell of the brain juices and fresh blood. And it is good news that he has shed as it shows he is growing....so all positive .

i have a feeding and shedding record from my breeder and they are due a feed in the next couple of days but should i still use the 7 day rule?
my male shed overnight all at once very nicely was active this morning after the shed and now hiding in the middle of his viv.

and yeah the site is fantastic!!!
does anyone know of any good viv sites as i am co habiting my two cornys atm (male and female) but after reading ALOT and talking to a few people from the site it seems that the best thing to do for there safety is seperate, and when they reach maturaty see if they will breed but obviously not my main aim!

thanks again guys!!!

Dont worry about it Jamie, think we all know you wouldnt use a bad word ! Unfortunately the programme has to be extensive and cannot differentiate between the word on its own and when the letters are used within a word, but we can generally work out what you mean without assuming you are swearing !! I just asterisk myself out when I get mad about something !!

I am so glad you got to see Rex shed and so jealous !! I have seen Kellog shed but not from the beginning like you did with Rex....and unfortunately the only time I saw Silvesta shed was when he had a bad one and I had to help him, so he shed in my hands....which was amazing but I would much rather have witnessed a clean shed. Do you realise how lucky you are !!

And you describe it perfectly....the way they 'walk' out of their old skin. That is exactly the way I describe it.

You are lucky you have previous sheds to have as a comparison and see how amazingly fast he is growing, having only adults I have missed out on that bit. He is obviously thriving under your care to be growing so well.

Reggie - why dont you start your own thread asking the questions you need answers to, that way you can be sure of people looking at it and helping you out.

I am SO glad to hear that you are separating your 2 snakes....and would suggest that speed is vital. Until you can get a viv could you get a RUB to put one in? They arent expensive and you can buy the equipment you need to heat your viv but use it to heat the RUB temporarily. The longer they are together the more chance there is of them mating or damage being done. Could you split the viv in half temporarily?

I am assuming you mean 80oF in your warm end and 70oF in your cool end. 80oF is too cool for the warm end....you need to be aiming at 82 - 85oF. How are you heating your viv? Is it with a heatmat and is the mat controlled by a stat? Also, how are you measuring the temperature in the viv? It needs to be measured with a digital thermometer as the dial and strip ones are virtually useless and cannot measure the temperature where you need it measure, heatmat level.

I am not sure when you got your corns but you should keep to the one-week no handling or feeding rule. They are very hardy and can easily go for a week without a feed. It is better to do that than to try to feed them while they are still stressed and settling in as it may cause a regurge.

It is amazing that you have already witnessed a shed! You are very very lucky!

(sorry if any of this info has been covered by others elsewhere Reggie, have been off the forum for a few days so missed a few things )

xxx

Hi, Jamie, Gizmo's gorgeous - I'm not well up on morphs but I'd hazard a guess at Miami/normal?

Been having a laugh at your adventures with censorship ... I once typed the word ****tail ... umm ...yes. Censored-a-doodle-doo!

Realise we do have to have some kind of filter system, but ... lol!

Plesed to meet you, by the way. I have five corns and a **** python!
