Well I have two hides, one which is a large log that is on the warm side and a fake rock that Cornflake can get into on the cooler side. The one on the cooler side is like 3/4 full of slighlty damp moss and I was wondering is this was needed apart from when shedding, to help the snake with the process?

I though I should ask since we are new to keeping snakes and ive heard that too much damp could cause health problems so just wanting to check up

This is my current set up;

Like Matty says, you don't really need it at all with corns as they do well with around the humidity which we have. It is sometimes added when a snake is about to shed but often isn't needed. I sometimes put it in one of caspers and candys hides when they shed as they often retain some shed on their tails. Candys is due to a kink but casper has nothing wrong and retains anyway.

Reggie sheds well alone so i just leave him be.

If anything i would take it out and only add when they are in blue.

I dont have anything to add to what Matty and Danny have said, moss is not needed in the viv unless a corn has difficult shedding, and having damp moss in there all the time will raise the humidity and could cause problems....except to reiterate what a nice viv you have provided for Cornflake - she is a lucky snake!
