Aura has gone blue been hoping she would for a week or so as she has gained about 5gs since we bought her home..and shes definately getting better at eating.. if i give her a really thinly chopped pinkie (lengthways) and put it slightly in her mouth she will do the rest of the work herself which is such a relief hopefully she will get into a regular shedding pattern in the next few months - so far shes shed once and that was back in october! will post 'after' pics once shes shed!

She really is a gorgeous snake. I am so glad she is improving and is slowly eating more. She will be snatching them out of your hand and constricting before you know it. |

thanks guys, im so excited about it - its been so stressful trying to get her interested in food and wondering if she would still be alive the next morning (drastic i know but shes so small that anything could have happened over night) hopefully it should be a good shed - he first one was and theres no reason as to why this one shouldnt be aswell

She's a beautiful little stripe! Have you tried an additive to the water? I have used critical care formula in the past with good effects, and there is something else with a specific appetite stimulant, might be worth looking into. |

That's good news .
Just had my adult blizzard go for 9 weeks without feeding , got fed up trying everything so the other night I had had enough :P took a firm grasp just behind his head , this made him try to back off which meant his jaw started to open , popped the mouses head in quick and "bang" took it :)
So I now know what it's like for a non eater , I was'nt desperately worried but you start to feel it after a couple months . |
One last jump , that's all we have to take Holth . Wearily the old queen gathered heself to spring ; Moreta gratefully began her litany . Black , blacker , blackest - They went between . |

thanks, Mike - she gets Reptoboost in her water and every so often if i think shes looking a bit down then she gets a quick bath in it as im not always sure if shes drinking enough, to say shes 6months old and never really eaten anything of any value til january (when i bought her home and decided to take matters into my own hands) shes not far off being a little miracle as really she probably shouldnt still be alive.. the picture doesnt show it very well but i think part of the reason why she wont eat whole pinkies is because she has such a thin little neck, she panics if its a 'solid' meal but hopefully as she gets bigger and fatter she will be able to munch on pinkie heads and eventually whole pinkies |

Hannah, she is looking gorgeous and it is obvious the good work you are doing with her!! It just shows how dedicated you are that you continued to persevere when many others would have just left her to starve to death and the result is what you have today....a beautiful snake who is beginning to eat better and who has done a perfect shed - showing that she is growing and healthy!
All credit to you Hannah.

aw thanks Judith shes growing nicely and now shes shed ok im really confident about her being a good feeder one day..i dont mind if shes fussy and wont eat every week but for her to be able to eat unassisted will suit me just fine - anything afer that will be a huge bonus |
