Hi everyone

My baby corn snake has just shed but a small bit remains on her tail, I've read a lot about bathing her for 10 - 15 mins but was wondering how to go about this?

Do i just hold her in lukewarm water or will she sit their voluntarily?

She is very lively and i don't wanna stress her to much
Any advice please??

James

I've never done it myself, but i would just put enough water in so that it is around as deep as your snake is and try to get it around 27 degrees, if you have a digi thermometer you could check it with that. Put your snake in and he should swim around. Keep an eye on the temperature and make sure you take the snake out before it the temp drops to around 22 or 23 degrees.

It will be more like a lukewarm puddle than a bath.

As above, but if you have a tub with a lid then put her in that (make sure it has air holes!) This way al you have to do is supervise your snake, not keep her in there as you would have to in the bath.

Cheers guys

I've manage to bath her a little at a time and used a towel to got the tail clear from skin now, but I'll defiantly bear it mind next time. I didn't realise you can put a lid on the box.

thanks again

Had to do this with a baby corn, here is how it went:

Got a small box (take away style) filled it with water, made sure with thermometer water was at 27c. Put snake in but did not let go of snake, just held him loose in the water, giving him the option to wrap around my fingers if he needed the reassurance, but also to make sure he doesn't drown!

Snakey seemed to enjoy it, even drank some of the water.

When it was time to bring him out I had a small towel ready for him to slither through. He did that, I checked to see he was nice and dry, and we were done.
