If we're talking Corns, then in nature they would be used to grass.
However, in a large open space on short grass they may become nervous to attacks from hunting birds.
I've had mine out in the garden before to let them have a slither and they seem to enjoy it, especially on a sunny day. |

The corns in our barn never went out on the grass that we saw. The garter snakes did and in broad daylight, but I never saw the wild corns out of our barn.quote: Originally posted by Blackecho

That's interesting because everything I read before I got Snickers said not to put your cornsnake out on the ground because that's how they get mites and other infections.quote: Originally posted by Fernando Pierre

Mites and infections don't live in grass, the main thing to watch for is that they don't get too cold. Like BE said, on a warm summers day its nice for them to go outside for a short while. |

parasites can be picked up from grass and care should be taken to not put your snake down where cats have pooed or weed |

When we have cats living next door who like to poo on our steps and patio just to repulse our dog, how am I supposed to think they aren't pooing in our grass?quote: Originally posted by lee2308

Grow the grass like I used to, on small trays with sterile soil.

Oh now that is just too cool . Talk about incredibly pampered snakes . One question - do you have a mini lawn mower for it? |
