Yep, they are hopefully going to be parents lol.
Casper looked pretty pleased after 7 years of virginity to finally be getting some action. They tied in for around 30 mins, I have got photos but they were right up against the front of the viv, so angles and light were dodgy.
Will be uploading the pics asap, they are now back in their own vivs relaxing. |

That is fantastic news SB and you must be really excited to see what happens next.
I just feel sorry for poor Casper and Mushu....having their privacy invaded like that at such an intimate moment  !
You will, of course, keep us up-to-date on what happens next!! When should you be able to tell whether Mushu is full of eggs?

You know what this means, i need a girlie snake now!!! any ideas what female would compliment Steve and of course what kind of babies they would have?
Got to do some serious sucking up to hubby to let me have a female snake now :) |

well i chucked Petal in with Asha and after neither of them moving a single muscle for half an hour they'd both disappeared under the newspaper when i went back to check on them an hour later..........so god only knows what went on! |

Just remember the rule of 3 - the female needs to be 3 years old, 3ft long and over 300g before it is safe to breed her.
Not sure about the male...think poor Steve might feel a little daunted were he to be put with a breeding female at the moment!!!

I know i'm being premature here but if i was to seriously think about getting a female would like to do it now so they would grow up together and be the same age, plus it's an excuse to have a snake of my own lol |

Fantastic pic...although I am not sure Casper and Mushu will be too happy having their 'private moment' splashed across the net! But it is very interesting for those of us who know nothing about breeding to see a pic of 2 snakes 'doing it'!
Any idea yet whether Mushu is going to be a mum? How long before you should be able to tell? How do you tell?

Well she has most definitely developed a large bulge from about halfway down her body to just in front of her vent, and has put on 42g in 2 weeks.
I'm no expert but I'm guessing the weight gain and fat tummy means she has many little buns in the oven! Super excited!! |
