What are the best scales to weigh a snake on, we tried weighing Steve with my hubbys digital fishing scales but he is so tiny he didnt register on them, He is only just over 12in in length, any ideas how heavy he should be roughly please?

Digital kitchen scales are the best. Don't want to hazard a guess as to how heavy he should be, its been years since I had a hatchling.

I have got a pair of SALTER Digital Kitchen Scales from argos, they are £12.99 and come with a 15 year guarantee.

They weigh in 1g increments and ive measured 2g pinkies on them.

They seem quite accurate.

I also went out and bought some SALTER Kitchen scales. They seem to be pretty accurate. They had none of the £12.99 ones in so i payed £14.99 but you can get them cheaper than that.

I weigh Snickers on a precious metals scale. I don't know how much longer it will work for her since she already likes to try to climb out of her little plastic basket.

Most of us put our snakes in some type of box - a small RUB, takeaway box...I use a shoe box because of the size of my snakes - with air holes punched in the top. Am not quite sure how precious metal scales work but most of us use the digital scales mentioned. We weigh the box (with lid on) then zero the scales, take off the lid, add the snake, replace the lid....and hey, presto - your snake's weight appears !
