Below you'll find pictures of Dimi after a feed. Am I feeding her the right size pinks or is she ready to move up a notch? Thanks, Lily & Dimika xx

Are the pinkies you are feeding her around about the same size as the fattest part of her body? I believe this is the general rule of thumb although by looking at the pics i would say she could try some slightly bigger ones.

Do you know what her weight is? If you are already feeding her two pinkies then I would think that she is ready to move up to a fuzzie every 6 to 7 days.

I think she weighs around 16/17g at the moment, but that is not an acurate measurement (I am buying some gram measuring scales) And thats what I thought about the fuzzies, but, and I know it sounds stupid, her head looks too small x)

They weigh 4/5g total?

I would suggest moving her up to a 5g Fuzzy and see how she goes.

From what i have seen this week, a 5g Fuzzy looks little different to a pinkie, just bigger, its not quite got a full coat of fur.

How heavy is Dimi?

She weighs around 15-17g Sorry it's a bit vague, we're buying new scales at the moment but will attempt to weigh tonight before feeding.

I agree with the above, I'd go for a small Fuzzy.

The way I feed mine is if the bulge is noticeable after feeding then I think that is a good size to feed them. If not so big up the size or feed 2 of the lesser size.

Rich.

Thanks for all the info. guys I will have to use up the pinkies I have left anyway, but I measured them and they are 3cm in length and about 1cm in width; do you know what the average measurements of a small fuzzy is? I have seen the picture which compares the mouse sizes, but I don't find it all that helpful xD

TBH there's so much variation in sizes depending on where you buy from you're probably best off going to your local rep shop and asking to see some of their fuzzies, or smallest fuzzies and making your mind up with them in front of you

if Dimi's taking 2 pinkies on a regular basis then move up to a fuzzy - providing it isn't more than 1.5 times the width of the snake's body at it's widest point
