i know most of you recommened stair climbing as exercise for corns, so im slightly concerned that tof cannot climb more than one stair without seeming to stuggle with her balance and end up falling |

Ill give it a go when they are bigger, I think putting the challenge to them when they're only about 40cm is a little unfair lol |

Are your stairs the sold ones with the backs on or the step types with no backing?
try letting her go down the stairs? |

the solid ones with the backs, how much of a difference does that make? and i tried letting her go down the stairs, she still kept falling |

I honestly can't remember whether it is related to that or not, best wait for Gp, Kehhlyr etc. to come on and say for sure... I could be talking absolute trash! |

generally if they have good muscle tone they're more co-ordinated although stair-climbing is a technique as well
how big is Tof? the stairs might be a bit too big or steep for a smaller corn........ |

Maybe it just takes practice Chrissy...keep trying with her for short periods, putting her on a step part way up and letting her go up or down, whichever way she wants to go. Just stay close to her and be ready to catch her. If it is muscle tone, then getting her to do the stairs will help with this as it is a form of exercise.
Does Tofu have things to climb in her viv (branches etc)? When she is out and being handled does she climb around the furniture? I know she climbs around you and hides in your hood or wrapped around your neck, so she is obviously able to climb to a point....so dont worry too much.
Maybe you could video her 'trying' the stairs so GP can see what happens.

she does have a branch to climb on, and her plants can be climbed over aswell because they are on the floor, i never see her out and about though so i have no idea if she does actually use them to climb yeh she sometimes has a climb on the furniture when she is out.
a mate of mine told me to "tail" her which i did, i held her just above her cloaca to see if she could climb up to my arm, she did seem to stuggle slightly but did manage it
i will try her on the stairs now and take a video, im just afraid of her falling and me not being able to grab her in time

HAHA!
(I cant wait for Slinky-T-F-B to grow so that I can watch her climbe the stairs!)
When I first got S-T-F-B I also got a fake vine- the first 3-4 days of using it she kept on falling off/loosing balance and then on the 5th day she didnt- so I put this down to building muscle-Pehaps try doing one step and then a day or so later another 1 step and slowly build the exercise up- I would think that building muscle would be the same as ourselves- little and often :)

2 steps away from making it to the top, she got destracted by trying to get into the carpet so i deleted the second video because it was just a second attempt starting near the bottom, can put it back on if you want to see it though |
