Hi
I have had my baby corn snake for about 4 months now, and he sheds his skin approx once a month, which up to now has all gone well.

He shed his skin two days ago, but when I checked him over, some of the skin has not come off - he has some very rough and flakey patches just before his tail. Also, he is normally quite active after shedding, but has not come out of his hide since. Anyone know why this would have occured, and what I can do about it?

Thanks in advance
Liz

My baby looked a bit tatty when he was shedding so I Soaked him in the water just before I changed it.
I then gently ran him through my fingers and thumb and rolled the old skin off.

my wee hatchling has never given us a full shed always in bits so we give him a bath, you will have to make sure bath is not to hot for snakey so check temp, and let him run through a towel or as Stumpy has said through your fingers.

try not to use your fingers to remove stuck shed,
letting your snake have a lukewarm bath and then lettimg them wriggle through a tea cloth or kitchen towel will work just as well - theres less chance of damage being caused to the snake that way

bet he looks really pretty and shiny now after his shed
