ok i came into my room tonight and found edison in his waterbowl which is a new one, then i realised that he was twitching his head up and down and then almost freaking out about something and wriggling around like a nutter.. this really isnt like edison at all and im actually freaking out myself.. hes been launching himself at me/something and often smacking his head on the faun side in the process and now hes rattling his tail.. i know these are generally defensive things but why would he get so defensive about his water bowl? or am i missing something?? and iv also noticed that his sides are really pinky red not like his normal peachy colour...if anyone can give me any ideas id appreciate it

Did you check Edison for mites? They are very hard to see in viv, literally microscopic dots. xxx |

ive checked him over..hes free of mites (blitzed the faun and everything looked ok), and hes not due a shed - he shed 2 weeks ago, think i just spooked him.. bless him before he freaked out he was full on swimming in his little water bowl.. hes fine now (thank goodness) and was zipping about this morning like nothing was wrong typical - i get hardly any sleep incase there was something really wrong with him and hes acting as if nothing happened! |

It's always the way Hannah, they have you all worried when thay are actually fine! We just got our Red Eared Sliders last week, and we've been having "New Pet Syndrome" - The constant worrying that your new guys are ok while you're still getting used to their normal behaviour! |
