how do you mean fits a faun? iv got a mat stat and have my probe under the faun but above the mat. I then have a thermometer in both the hot and cool ends so i can see the temps, my guys are all in rubs or fauns aswell if that helps?
edited to add..
my heat mat is set to 33' but the temps inside the fauns are at a steady 30' under the hides.. if it goes higher then i turn the stat down slightly and visa versa (or however you spell it!!) as long as you have a stat and it is measuring the temperature of the mat either under or within the faun then it should be ok |

Microclimate 100 mat stat. £17 from 888reptiles.co.uk. Or most pet stores £24.99 if you dont wanna wait and pay P&P. As Hannah said, any stat should run a heat mat. Its only if you had a infra red or ceramic you'd need something bit more manly (pulse, dimmer).
Follow Hannah's set up guide above as people think you need drill hole in faun/RUBs to fit probe but as long as you fit the stat probe on to heat mat outside and adjust accordingly so thermometer is the correct temp inside you'll be fine. |

if you make the hole big enough for the probe then fit a little rubber grommet to block the gap around the wire |

beat me to it eeji! Yes that is what i was explaining in my first post. Though it wont be exactly the same heat as in the faun/rub, the stat temp isnt accurate and you'll just adjust it until the actual thermometer in the faun/rub is correct.
Though if u have already made hole, do as GP suggested! |
