Its a month today since Aura shed for the first time and she last fed a few days before that - havent got her sheet infront of me so cant remember the exact date..

I've tried braining, splitting the side, scenting with a chick, leaving in over night, leaving her and the pinkie to get better aqainted for an hour or so... but no joy..

I really dont know what else to try apart from Luke making a pinkie smoothie or something but i dont want to stress her out any more than neccessary..and I dont really want to get her feeding with a pinkie smoothie incase she gets fussy about eating proper pinkies - could that happen??

She seems fine in herself.. drinking normally and is usually out and about in her faun attempting to hide (which she really cant do well!!) I don't handle her except to move her to a tub for feeding but it's getting to the point now where we are talking about taking her to the specialist rep shop where Luke got Lucien from and seeing if they can get her feeding but I want to make sure that there is nothing else I can try before resorting to someone else attempting..

She was the biggest of the clutch and when we got her she weighed in at 6g.. need to weigh her again to see if thats changed but could her being the biggest of the clutch have anything to do with her not feeding??

Also.. she will go right up to it and nudge it with her nose/face but its almost as if she doesnt really know how to eat it or pinkies just aren't her thing.. i even wafted the chick infront of her but she wasnt interested in it...

I need some help please... the last thing i want to do is take her to the shop incase when she comes back she goes back to not wanting to feed again

ideas on a post card please.....

I hear you... we're in the same trouble and I'm now thinking of taking our non-feeder to the vet to see what's what, especially as he also hasn't shed in all this time and I can't tell whether he's getting ready to shed now, or not.

So I'll be following up on this thread to see if any advice you get could come handy for us too.

Meanwhile, any idea how much a vet visit might cost?

is there no rep shop you can take him to? they should be able to help get him re-feeding better than a vet will

yup on three occassions.. she never goes near it when its in the faun..she scurries off under her hide and doesnt come out at all until its gone..
she hatched on the 18th Aug and was fed on the 22nd so hasn't eaten since then.. just want her to feed - even if she only has one feed and then doesnt feed again for a while at least it will be a start..

right first check the temps with a digi thermometer get them correct then pack its faun (which i am guessing is quite small) with fake vines hides tissue tubes then cover the faun with a sheet/towel leave alone for 5-7days. after this time defrost the smallest pinkie at room temp then super heat it with a hair dryer. lift the lid of the faun try not to disturb it to much and place the pinkie at the entrance of the hide your snake is in cover back over and dont check on it for the next 24hrs.

hope this works if you chose to try it.

it has worked with me for both corns and royals

the temps are ok - the hot end is at 28-29' - it is on a stat so it hovers around that sort of mark...and the cool end is around 18-20' she shares a heat mat with the other two babies and has paper between them so they cant see eachother or anything (didnt know if they would get stressed or anything but did it anyway)

i dont handle her and i usually cover her faun up anyway as i thought it might help her if it was dark..would it be worth me swapping her faun and Monts around so she is on her own and Mont is with the others?

i usually leave the pinkie on kitchen towel just near the hide in the warm end - there are vines in there which when fully spread out cover half of it easily.. I'l put some shredded paper in her faun to pack it out a bit and put in a loo roll or something and see if that helps

Have you tried putting her in a very small rub with the pinky in ? I use this method with my 2 year old guy , never seems to want to feed , put him and a large mouse in a 5 litre rub , you can guess how large he is compared to the rub . Put the lid on then put the rub in his viv with him and mouse in , leave him in peace and he has eaten 100% of the time so far . Try that with yours .

One last jump , that's all we have to take Holth .

It would'nt hurt her to leave her in overnight , do it last thing , they are more active at night . Make sure the rub is quite small , she needs to be constantly aware that food is there , if she can scoot to one end she can still disregard it .

one of my non feeders ate for the first time in 3 months last week with a boiled pinky. Boil for 3 minutes, let it cool a bit and chuck it in still warm.

The only place is where I bought him, and I'm not sure it's a good idea to take him back there... not sure it's a bad idea either, it's just that at the time they said we'd be ok without a stat, couldn't remember the exact hatching date or the exact date he last fed.

I'm not expecting the vet to get him to eat, I just want the reassurance that there is nothing wrong with him and that he's doing well. If he's healthy and 100% fine then I'll just need to be patient and simply keep trying until he finally decides he's hungry, I guess.

i tried feeding her last night..put her in a super small little tub (colselaw tub to be precise!) and left her and the pinkie in it overnight with a bottle top of water but no luck..she was super moody this morning with me so dont think she liked it much!
am going to give her one more try on monday with a boiled pinkie but am not massively hopeful..
will keep my fingers crossed as if she doesnt feed then i think luke will be making a pinkie smoothie for her.. nice

Ahh well , fingers crossed she will go for a bit of boiled .

Do you have a pinky syringe for the mush feeding ?
