Do I have to cool down once a year or is that only if you are using the snakes to breed

Generally speaking, cooling down is only done if you are intending to breed. Mine are kept at the same temp all year.

Yeah breeders will usually do this, but it is not even essential for breeding!

last winter was the first time i deliberately cooled my older corns for breeding the following spring........... and they didn't breed!! slightly gutted!

from a breeder's perspective as well as it being a more natural cycle for the snakes it also helps keep costs down

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, bullsnakes, boas and day geckos

Location:Leeds/York/Selby area
