Hi - I bought my daughter her first corn snake today. She has called him cornflake and he is gorgeous! He is hiding away at the moment but earlier he was very lively. We know we can't handle him until we first feed him and after he has digested for a couple of days but can anyone advise how to pick him up We do not want to hurt him or stress him. Any advice would be great! |

well firstly leave the corn for a week before handling or feeding. let the snake settle in. if its a hatchling there is no "propper" way to do it. just put your hand in the vivand pick it up because they are so fast. with adults you can normally just pick it up without any movements enjoy the corn |

Hi Raz. I guess this is a case of Kellog meeting Cornflake!! Love the name. When you touch him dont touch near his head or tail, as they dont like that. An older snake you need to support with one hand approx 1/3 down body and other hand approx 2/3 down body - officially. But I find Kellog is strong and I just react to his movements, holding him and supporting him where I can. Look forward to seeing some pics - you realise that is the first rule of the forum....Lol! xxx |
