It's the day after I bought my baby, and she was due to be fed today. The pet shop owner said she might take two pinkie's, so I gave her one then let her settle whilst the other thawed. I video'd both feeds, and just want to know if feeding her two pinkie's is alright just by the looks of her feeding =)

I love how confident she is with her food though, as she's been nervous since I brought her back from the shop which is understandable.

Pinkie number one;

Pinkie number two;

Let me know what you guys think of her feed by watching her video's. I'm thinking next week I might just feed her one pinkie since she had two this week? She didn't take the second pinkie straight away, but still managed to eat it in about 5/6 minutes.

Id say 1 pinky every feed! She is much smaller than Bam, and Im having to cut him back to one pinky as I think he is being over feed.

But he looks so big! Not overfed, just growing lol. He's a strapping young lad =P lol.

I wondered if it might be too much, but judging by how easily she ate it I think it was good for her since she went through the stress of coming to a new home and it hopefully helped settle her. I'm thinking one pinky will be enough from now on though.

I thought that with Bam, but then was not so sure, So I started a post in the pics section http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5358
Going by the advice on there, im cutting him back to one. Maybe im wrong and your little fella is bigger and the vids make him look smaller?

Yeah I was just reading through your thread lol.

Well she didn't look too big after her two, after her first week to settle in I might try to weigh her and see if I can figure it out from there. Until then it's just one pinky each feed me thinks =)

Go to one pinkie and watch her behavior, if she goes straight back into the hide she is O.K.
If she looks for another pinkie a couple of days later then she will need feeding again, if this starts to happen on a regular basis, then it is time to consider going up to a fuzzy.

Thanks Stumpy =)

That sounds like a good plan. Hopefully by next week she won't be so nervous (she's alot less nervous today considering I got her on friday) so I'll be able to decipher whether it's nerves that make her go back in to her hide, or lack of hunger.

EDIT: Oh and when I fed her the first pinkie she didn't hide straight away, she seemed to hover around where I'd fed her but that could have been because she was catching remnants of the scent.
