Is having a box of damp vermiculite in my corns viv at all times a good thing to do ? i have known people who have done this all their corns life, and all their corns are in great condition (inside and out).. but i would like some second opinions

if you provide an alternative hide at which ever end of the viv the damp hide is in then yes, if you carefully monitor the snake for skin/respiratory problems you can get away with it.........
although naturally corns don't need the humidity which is why prolonged excess humidy causes health problems

SexyBear77, they have regular checkups by an exotic vet to make sure that the prolonged exposure to a damp humid environment doesn’t effect their respiratory systems.

My corn Tobasco don`t have a damp hide at any time at - all. Our petshop reccomended this. Whenever he is about to shed we wait until his eyes are clear then spray him everyday (3 to 4 squirts) and after bout 3/4 days of doing that we give him a lukewarm bath for 10 - 15 mins. We do this every time and every time we get a full shed
