Hey all-

for the third shed in a row, Casper has had skin left on the end of his tail. It has been removed immediately when I've noticed he's shed, but his tail has been left with a damaged tip, obviously from the blood flow being restricted. It appears to be quite angry and painful atm, but the nearest rep vet is around 4 hours away in Edinburgh. What can I do myself to ensure the tail can heal well, as its looking like he will lose it soon.

many thanks
Rachael x

I agree clean it with tamodine (Alison can tell you how often) and put him on newspaper.

Use kithen roll for substrate to stop anything getting in the wound and use the tamodine daily

kitchen roll or newspaper for substrate (depending on the size of the enclosure) to keep the area clean, and Tamodine is specifically for reps, povidone-iodine scrub/solution is slightly different although i'm not sure how to be perfectly honest.
