One thing still kind of confuses me...When cleaning out your glass tank/viv what are you supposed to clean it with? Is washing up liquid ok? ive heard people say to use weak disinfectant but am not sure what products would count. What product does everyone else use?

You can get specialist reptile safe disinfectants!

You can get a product called "keep it clear" from the factory shop lol!

i use formula h. it's like a vet disinfectant. it's pretty good. a mate of mine uses it with his snakes too. i just bung a bit of that in a spray bottle and spray into the viv. i use a cloth to clean then i wipe it down with some kitchen roll.

I use clean 'n' safe, safe for all animals and only £2 something a bottle.
I wouldn't use washing up liquid as it may be dangerous for the snake, if you use bleach use one part bleach to ten parts water :)

clean 'n' safe is amazing lol, and smells very nice! Choose from Lavender, Lemon or Coconut lol! And only like £2.79 a bottle, bargain!

no, im not even sure what you mean by a factory shop lol. is that a chain of shops? or an actual factory? i have my local reptile store which i wil be going to in a few days to pick up my new snake so i could have a look for this 'clean'n'safe' there but if any of you have a link to where i could buy it online that would be great :)

if it's the clean n safe by johnsons for small furries i was told by customer services that they would not reccomend it for reptiles.

What about Milton baby bottle steriliser? is that ok to use? a few people on RFUK have recommended it. what do you guys think?

i would play it safe and just use stuff designed for reps.Beaphar beaclean or bephar deepclean or some thing simular,snake can be very sensitive.

Is it ok to use washing up liquid like a small ammount and then mixed with loads of warm water to wash the viv out and then wipe down with hot water and dry with kitchen towel is that ok to do as im getting my snake tomorrow and i want to clean his viv before he goes in it.

na the one i use is called keep it clear lol! It's cheap! And yeah the factory shop are a chain of stores! But LOL just found they only have 5 stores and they are in my local area lol!

As I only have a smal plactic tank i clean mine with washing up liqid, then rinse it in boiling water, before drying, Bam seems fine with it.
