I am sorry to say that my sons 2 year old cornsnake has just died - he hasn't eaten for 5 weeks and we weighed him last night and he had started to lose weight so we were going to start alternative feeding to see if we could kick start him eating again. Apart from that, no signs at all of any ill health, seemed lively as usual and now this. He was our first snake so want to know what happened and if we did anything wrong (temperatures seemed ok). Is it worth taking him to a vet for a post-mortem or just put it down as one of those things? Any thoughts, much appreciated |

If you have any others it is definitely worth having a pm done to rule out anything that is contagious. Personally I would get it done anyway for peace of mind and to know it wasn't something I had or hadn't done that caused the death. |
