Hi all, long time no speak!

Some sad news I'm afraid, I lost Lucius the other week and it's only now I've been able to bring myself to pop in here and ask a few questions. I lost all my snakes at the same time, all five of them to something which looks like it might be Inclusion Body Disease. But I wasn't sure if corn snakes could get IBD or if it was just a python thing?

Second question, I've been offered a Royal Python, a rescue, and was wondering if I fully disinfect the old viv and what not could I put it in there? Or would it need to be a new viv entirely?

Sorry to hear this :(

I believe any reptile can get IBD
I would get a new viv just for my own peace of mind, but I expect if you disinfected it and steamed it it would probably be ok.

Thanks Scaly - I read somewhere that the disease soaks into the wood itself - is that possible?

If there's openings I don't see why it's not possible

I haven't heard of corns dying from Ibd. Is likely something else. I would get a necropsy done on your snakes and check for crypto.

I also wouldn't take Any reps on just now until the cause of death isbdeyermined
