So, I THINK he may be going into shed (first time with me - I've read that hognose's don't shed as much as corns? Is this correct?) Anyway I thought he looked....different. He was very hissy with me (more so than usual) and his black belly just looked not QUITE so black. His eyes weren't that blue/grey colour, but I think I might have missed that part and he's back to clear now. So I tried to feed him the day after (as is his normal routine) but he wouldn't take them - I left him in a small covered container with the mice, went back a couple of hours later, and still not eaten them.
So I was just going to offer his next feed as usual.
Question is about him shedding - should I put in some moss for him? Just his scales are different from corns, will he be ok shedding on his own? Feel a bit silly for asking lol, but never had him shed with me before! |

As growing, Storm shed often, he sounds like he is going to get ready, same as Storm all he does is hide and wont eat I havent done any moss, and have never had a problem, it wouldnt hurt if only for your peace of mind to put in moss, i did try it, but Storm never went in it, but others say they love a moss hide if you dont have any moss, you could just spray to raise humidity a bit? |

I'll wait and see how he gets on. He has been hiding a lot more recently so probably is coming up to a shed! |

He shed he done not bad but had a bit stuck on his tail, popped some moss in, checked a few hours later and all done he looks so fresh!
And his shed is colourful lol! Oscar and Emmy are so light that their sheds are see-through, but you can see Hugo's pattern on his, love it! |
