So Aleron has been given the nickname Bitey, cos it's pretty much all he does. Here are some shots of him coiled up on the back of my computer chair, waiting to strike may hand again (he got me while getting him out).

I've gotta say, I sincerely regret buying a grown on snake from a pet shop :/ Having bought up my own babies, I know that regularly handled well treated snakes are little angels to handle. Aleron has been a demon since the day I bought him home, most likely due to lack of handling for his early life (although I know tais can be a bit grumpy anyway). I hope he improves by the time he's 8 feet long, his love bites are cute now but they won't be for much longer.

Could be a good progression thread. Instead of snake size pics you could put up snake bite size pics. Aleron one side bites the other and we could see them both increasing in size. Lol

Haha, I tried to take a picture of the one I got last night but it wouldn't come out properly :( It's a shame he doesn't latch on like Luna, that makes for a great pic. He's more a bite and run type.

It could well be his personality, anyway, and not just not being handled;-)

+ 1 on the pic progression thread - I can see pictures coming out in couple of years time, with you wearing a full face shield , kevlar body armor and biking gloves , with Bitey ( now permanently renamed ), coming up fast along your snake hook .... cue Jaws music.... ;-)

I think he'd see it as a giant branch for him to coil around o.O Odd thing is I can stroke him with the feeding tongs and he doesn't even flinch. Hands are a different story. I wonder if he doesn't like the feel of skin, I might try gloves.
