It took a 3 hour trip down to Birmingham in bumper-to-bumper traffic from Lancaster, but well worth it 
No name yet, but she is a probable female according to the breeder, it's very difficult to sex them when they're so young. She will have her 6 month birthday (er, hatch day!) on the 27th of this month 
It's hard to imagine our Darwin was ever this small! Here he is in his full mental power:

Darwin is a little over 3 years old, just under 5 feet long (including tail) and a bit over a stone in weight. These guys are able to reach 8 feet in length, but most males top out between 6-7 feet and females between 5-6 feet. Darwin has his own bedroom as his "viv", since he's big enough, but this little girl is in a 4ft viv at the moment. She'll have a portion of our 2nd bedroom to herself, the same size Darwin has in our 3rd bedroom.
We'd love the chance to breed these two in the future, but water monitors are incredibly hard to breed, you need a pair that's compatible and WILL breed for a start (which doesn't always happen as some will dominate the other, and injury can be caused!), and the eggs are incredibly delicate and fragile and have a very long incubation time (about 9 months). The breeder we got her off of (who also breeds hognoses and produced my little shovelface who I love to pieces, hehe) has been trying to breed his for 15 years and finally succeeded last year. And then to find out both were het sulphur! It's like hitting the lottery!

And Auld Baldy that is our bath, hehe. I think it was described as a "corner bath" when we were looking at purchasing the house. It's a bit wider than normal baths, but a little shorter in length.
