our new snake wieghs 409g, and is around 3ft long. At the shop they told us to feed 'one med mouse' 7 days [the ones they gave us are 17ish grams] looking at the 'guide' chart she should be on nearer 25-30g mice 10 - 14 days. which would be nearer? there is not realy any bulge after feeding. we were thinking give her the 17g every 5 days to use them up and give her 30g over 10 -14 days, or give her two at once 10-14 days, or dump these and get the proper size [25-30g]. we are not sure if 7 day feeding will have different effect to 10-14 day feeding
you're thoughts please........

I would feed her two of the 17g mice at one time every 14 days (ish) until they are used up and then buy the correct sized prey for her from then on. |

I'm going to disagree with Donnie . You wouldn't normally 'double up' once your snake has moved on from fluffs and I'd be concerned about overwhelming her system, even with the feeds stretched out that far apart. You need to be aware that the feeding guide is just that, a guide to give you a rough idea but not to be followed 'religiously'.
Any idea how old she is? Going by her weight and size I'd guess she is virtually an adult and therefore you wouldn't necessarily expect to see a bump when she feeds.
How many medium mice do you have? I certainly wouldn't feed her every 5 days either, for the same reason of overwhelming her system. Personally I'd continue feeding her weekly with the mediums until you've run out and then change to large mice, not jumbo /x-large as corns don't really need that amount of food. But that is my opinion and you must do what you think is best for her .

I'd say XL would be too big jump from mediums, it's only a rough guide, and you'll need to build the size gradually... You will need to upgrade soon, at her weight and size, but it'd be ok to finish the medium mice.
If you're worried the food is not enough ( whilst still feeding the mediums ), you could get some fuzzies, and give him 1 medium, and 1 fuzzie ( that's what I did :-) ) That gives them more food, at the right weight. I wouldn't double up a medium, as 2 mediums at 17 g will give you 34 g of food, that would be too much in one go, if the snake has just been used to 1 medium.
