Hi everyone,

I'm new here and new to snakes! I've owned my CB13(sept)carolina corn snake for exactly a week today! He's fed well and I'll be moving him up to two pinks next feed as he's 15g and one doesn't really stretch him. He's been named Jimmy Snickers :P I loved the name Snickers and my niece named him Jimmy so he got both names :P

I love him to bits, he is a brilliant snake! Very calm and we'll handled :) He's not striked or bitten me once and stays in my hands. He spent an hour this morning snuggled up in my jumper snoozing! Cheeky boy :)

He's in a 34" Vivarium and I've made an aspen Hill at one end which he loves burrowing through! There are always new holes in the hill were he's been coming and going. Ambient temperature is about 20°c with the area above the heat mat around 29°c which is perfect? I think >< I do need to get a light though, his viv is tucked in an alcove so he hardly gets any natural light. I don't want him getting stressed from unnatural lighting. He seems very happy at the moment though! :)

Hi and welcome!

Sounds good and I am glad he has settled in well. It's quite a large viv for the little guy, so make sure you have plenty of things he can hide in, toilet roles are a good cheep option or you can buy hides at a reptile shop. Artificial greenery is good too. Temps sound good. Corns don't need loads of natural light as try spend most of there time hidden away. Hope that helps. Do ask any questions and welcome again : )

Thank you both :)
Yes Redware, he has multiple hiding placing, about 3 in each side of the viv with one in the middle so plenty of places to hide :) he spends his evening at window watching out :P
I did watch him, and planned to get him a RUB to grow up in but he seemed confident exploring and had no troubles feeding so I've left him be :)

I've ordered some greenery for him, he has got wooden mushrooms of climb but he definitely needs more. I know they don't need a lot of light but it is very dark in there, especially as the days are so dark now! I think it would make the viv stand out more too :)

Hi and welcome. One thing, if he's only 15g he will most probably easily be able to squeeze out through the gap between the glass doors! (assuming it is a traditional vov not a top-opening one that is) The easiest thing to use is a paper binder/spine clipped over the edge of the inside door, but in the meantime wedge some cardboard in the gap to be on the safe side :)
