I might be worrying over nothing but my 3 month old corn seems to always be in his hide on the cold side and when I pick him up he feels cold as well.
The warm side is c.28 degrees but is there anything I can do to encourage him or just stop worrying.
Apart from that he is fine, eating normally (but doesn't coil) etc

It isn't anything to worry about Tony, but good that you asked. Most of my corns spend their time in their cool hide, except after they've eaten and are digesting. Your corn is probably using his warm hide, just when you're not around . You say the warm end temp is 28oC. Is that measured using a digital thermometer and is the heatmat controlled by a thermostat?

As for him feeling cold, it's natural. His temperature is a lot lower than ours, being cold blooded, so they will normally feel cool to the touch.

I'll echo this lol. My big female prefers her Corkbark hide to her wooden corner hide. Try switching the hides to find out if it's a preference thing? I did this with my female as I noticed she was spending a lot of time on her warm side and thought maybe the temp was too low but it was perfect so I switched hides and she started spending all her time on her cold side because that's where her favourite hide was lol.

Yeah, mine was spending more time than usual in the warm side, I switched the hides, and now he spends most of his time in the cool end!

Shows how bad my brain fog is . Should have thought of him having a favourite hide. I've done exactly the same as the others, swapped hides round to see if it makes a difference and it never did but it may be worth a try.

Thanks for this comfort!
I did actually swap the hides over last night whilst I was feeding him in separate box so will see if that works. When he went back in, he went straight to the hide on the cold side but he did look confused about something being different!

Kellog - yep, temperature controlled by thermometer linked to thermostat
