Hello, just a quick question. I have a glass vivarium with a plastic bottom which is quite thick and I was wondering what should I do with the heat mat. |

It is a fish tank but I thought I could use it for a vivarium |

Generally, with plastic and glass vivs you can put the heat mat underneath it. They need to go inside wooden vivs though. |

Yeah, tape to the bottom of the viv on the outside - is there a gap though? If it's a fish tank you will need to raise it slightly so there is a gap underneath the mat to pop a piece of polystyrene. You don't want the tank sitting on top of the mat and squashing it to the surface underneath, that would be dangerous. |

If you want to know if enough heat's getting through, simply put a thermometer or your thermostat on the inside and see how hot it gets. |
