Hey everyone. Basically a few days ago I posted pictures of my newly aqquired carpet python who is supposedly 66% het granite. Now I've been interested in snake breeding since I got my first corn and have decided that I would like to breed carpets. So my main question is, are granite carpets desireable? Would it be a worthwhile venture? Also bear in mind she is roughly a year old now and it wouldn't be for another 2 years that I could breed her. Thanks for reading :)

Granite is a great morph IMO and there are some stunning ones out there. It mixes especially well with zebra and jag morphs. I believe it is best to breed a visual to a het and not two visuals together but that shouldn't matter to you as yours is a possible het. I would love a granite or two but then again there are a lot of carpet morphs that I would like to own I just don't have the space (yet ). It's a bit of a risk for you as it is not a definite het as you could buy a visual and then wait a couple of years to breed and then find out that yours isn't het granite. On the upside though you will have a granite to look at

Thank you very much for your input. I think I will definately breed her in future. Now the trouble is finding a granite carpet.

No problem. If you struggle I will be able to point you in the direction of a few breeders who should have them.

Have seen plenty of posts 'elsewhere' where people rave about the granite carpets, I would have thought it would be a safe bet that their popularity will only increase over time!
