Well only a few things left to get/waiting to come through the post!
Ive got the housing and heat/lighting sorted. I have all the substrate and a bamboo root climb. All the thermometers and hygrometers are set up in place too! Can tell you though, fickery bloody things are wires to get set up down through the lid of exo terra's! got to vent out all my frustrations haha.

In the post coming should be a hide, food dish and a ledge that are all magnetic ^^
After that all i need to get is some hanging plants.

And finally i can get my CRESTIE! i've already chosen names ^^ :D

I'm in the same boat as you. I've got lots of things set up but magnetic feeding ledge and ledge in post. I've reserved a crestie baby for pickup at Doncaster...

how can you reserve for doncaster? Curious as i may do the same BUT a 6hour train home may cause it distress without the correct heating etc. So maybe not best idea for me aha.

ust realised i may have gotten the wrong heat lamp to go with the bulb :S but not sure.

I found an advert on the dark side (RFuk) and asked about my favourite. I've reserved him/her so that the breeder won't sell it to someone else before Doncaster

Crested geckos don't need heating when it's not too cold. Around 20 degrees and they'll be fine, they can tolerate a bit of a drop at night too so I don't think the temperature of a train would bother them unless it is ridiculously hot (over 26 degrees makes them uncomfortable). I wouldn't have thought a train journey would be much more stressful than a car journey. I suppose there is more noise but could muffle it by putting the container in a cardboard box or something.

There are even breeders in USA which will ship to UK, travelling doesn't seem to be detrimental to their health or wellbeing anymore than a snake it seems.

Just pop him in his travel box in a polystyrene box,I use scrunched up newspaper to stop the little box moving in the poly box.He should be nice and insulated from heat/cold/sound/vibrations-and if BR staff ask, well its just a little casserole you're taking home for aged mum/aunt/uncle

It is permitted to take pets on a train as long as they are safely contained/under control. My dog and I used to go on train journeys very regularly before I got a car I know people who have taken reptiles or ferrets on trains before without problems, as long as they are contained and not annoying other passengers it's ok

mjpeters' suggestion sounds good Problem solved, you could get one from the Doncaster show if you found one you fell in love with
