I dragged OH along to visit the reptile room in blackpool whilst we were over there for a few days. I held their crested geckos which were SOOOO gorgeous and OH held one too.

We both fell instantly in love with them and he very quickly gave me permission to get one!

Yay!

I wonder if they will have some at the Doncaster show. The one in the shop was just gorgeous but I didn't have anything ready for the little guy so I didn't want to buy him there and then.

Soon to be a crestie owner

Oh, you're lucky, I like cresties, but not allowed one. Love the feel of their sticky feet and sponginess :-)

There were plenty of cresties at the SWARE in Wales, so I' m guessing there be even more to choose from at Doncaster.

I loved their sticky little feet, and the way they jump Bouncy little critters. I've found a few being advertised on the dark side that said they would be going to Doncaster already so hopefully there will be a good selection. I want a youngster so I can watch him/her grow up

Haha, VERY nearly did... The gecko that I held first was just so adorable. Very young, only a few months old and already dropped its tail But they do fine without one. However it had no pattern and I had already decided before I went to see them that I wanted a pinstripe, Halloween or harlequin. If I'm only allowed one (with OH currently says) then I want the perfect gecko for me Then I can work on patiently changing his mind like I did with all my other snakes

Haha, OH won't be going to Donnie. Not his sort of thing I will be with my tortoise fan friend She'll be the sensible one saying 'no, you don't need another reptile' and trying to pull me away from the tables Oh hang on, that might not narrow it down either...

I think it'd be nice to have a cornsnake forum folk get together somehow, even if it's just a 'look out for this obvious thing I'll be wearing' type of thing. Perhaps I will wear brightly coloured shoes or a strange hat or something

Can I ask a crestie question? No, we aren't getting one just yet lol! I'm just thinking quite a way ahead into the future... Prism is currently in a glass exoterra but it's a good size one, 2ft wide and high, 18 inches deep and obviously it won't be big enough for her forever. When she moves up would that be any good for, say, a pair of cresties, or would it just be too big? It would be quite nice to find something we like which could use it as a forever home.

That's the tank I'm getting for my cresties as adults Had to okay the final tank size with OH before I got permission and he said yes to one of those.

Oooooh. I'm planning on getting a juvenile crestie as my first one so I won't know gender but I might have to look into getting several females for a nice trio or pair
