It's day 61 for my 11 eggs which have been cooking at a cool 27 degrees. I hadn't expected them this early but this morning I went to check on them and there is one little snake which has pipped

He/she is coming out upside down apparently. Looks like a normal so far. This is the smallest egg of the lot so probably the smallest hatchling.

Pictures you say?
Okay

Like I said, looks like it will be a very bright normal (just like mum)

Upside down, funny little thing.

Better get that hatchling rack sorted FAST...Nearly ready just need to thread heat cable through it and put aluminium tape over that, then turn it on and allow to reach stable temperatures. Hopefully this little one will stay in the egg a day or so. If not, he/she will have to stay in the incubator until his/her clutch mates appear and I have the rack ready

So excited, I really didn't expect them to be this early with the cooler temps I was cooking them at.

Sooooo AcidicAngel. Anything from your lot yet? I was waiting to hear about pippies from you, thinking mine would be a few days later.

Thanks coal I'm super excited to see what (if any) morphs I get. I suppose this one could be a hypo or a diffused or almost any pattern, motley, stripe etc, although I think normal or hypo are more likely.

No probs, and fingers crossed for some cool morphs! What was the pairing, if I may ask? :)

Thanks smartbunny I can't wait until he/she comes out and I can get a look at what morph he/she is.

Coal - It was a pairing between a Normal het charcoal, amel, diffused (and unknown other hets) and an Anery with unknown hets. I'm hoping my anery will prove to be het amel as it is a common het to be found in anery snakes. There has also been some debate about whether my normal is infact a normal, she could be a hypo or could be het any number of things which the previous owner was not aware of (he didn't know she was het amel until she produced a load of fire babies for him).
It's a bit of a mystery pairing. I could end up with just normals het anery ph charcoal, diffused, amel or if I'm lucky I might get some morphs. Either way, the normals will most likely be very, very bright.

Another pippie

This one hasn't stuck more than the very tip of its nose out yet so I'm eagerly waiting to see more so that I can get an idea of colour.

The tip of the nose is pink. It has a little darker bit that I could just see the edge off. I reckon possibly an amel? It looks a bit dark though. I will find out later. It's not a normal as the first one is so much darker so that's good news, Apollo must be het for something then!

I think he/she is shy

I reckon a normal and an amel so far, but that's just a guess. I'll have to wait until they come out to be sure

1st one is out

A lovely bright little normal.

Such a quiet little snake too. Healthy and alert but very placid, especially considering I was the first person to handle it.
