I know this has probably been asked before, I've done a search but can't find anything. At what size/age can I put my Baby Corn in a 3 foot long vivarium? I already have a brand new one set up ready. My corn is CB13 not sure what month. He is 22 inches long and feeding on 2 pinkies a week. I know if its too large a vivarium he can get stressed and go off food. Just wanted a rough idea.
Well, I would have said about about two 1/2 foot long plus because that worked out well for my male Apollo. However I recently put my CB12 into a 3 ft viv and she is over 28inches long. She's gone on a hunger strike. I don't know whether it is the move that has done it, a new batch of mice or the heat. Sometimes if you put them up too early it can stress them out and they stop eating and their behaviour changes.
I think it depends on the snake themselves, and the amount of cover you provide in the 3 foot long viv. I would wait until your snake is a fair bit bigger to put him up to a 3 footer as he's still really quite little. Both my youngsters have only gone up to their 3 foot vivs when they were comfortable eating smalls and one of them is still refusing to eat
A good rule of thumb is that a snake should be no longer than the length plus width of the viv, but I think if it is too much less than that length then it can stress them out a bit.
