hey there i was just wondering if a heat mat is compulsory i have been looking at breading racks and they dont have heat mats or enything to keep them warm ?????
heat mats are pretty much always necessary! The need a gradient of heat. for corns generally 30 degrees AT VERY HOTTEST down to 21 degrees. for racks you can get tape/strips instead of chunky mats.
I think with breeding racks heat strips or tape tends to be used rather that heat mats but i think it depends on the rack. Some form of heat will be needed to provide suitable hot end temps and a thermal gradient. With any luck some one who has a rack will com along and tell you how they have theirs set up and what they use
