Hello all,

It's a pleasure to meet you all! I hope you are all okay and well! I hope to enjoy my time here.

I'm the owner of two corn snakes. Fairly new to the joys of having a corny, but so happy to have one. They're adorable.

Sammy - a Ghost Corn Snake and Snowball a Snow Corn Snake.

I've had Sammy for about 9 months (here he is roaming in my house: http://kitmyth.net/misc/Pictures/sam%20snake/IMG_20130614_231503.jpg), but unfortunately, he's decided to break out of his home. I've not seen him in just over a week, nor has he eaten for a bit over 2 weeks.
I'm hoping he comes home soon. Any thoughts or ideas to help would be appreciated.

Snowball is new to my home and is a little hatchling. I got him just yesterday and here he is being curious http://kitmyth.net/misc/Pictures/sam%20snake/IMG_20130701_180639.jpg He's a shy little guy at the moment. He likes to curl up in his coconut shell.

It's a pleasure to meet you all here,

Keep Well all,

Regards,

So glad you've joined us Chris. This is a great forum with lots of experienced owners happy to give their advice and support. You also get lots of fun and friendship .

I am sure you have already browsed the TCS site and forum, so you'll know there is lots of information on viv set-up, feeding, shedding and handling in General Keeping Information - Stickies That is also where you will find the thread about finding a lost snake. It gives you an idea of where they like to hide, what you can do and stories about snakes that have turned up after months, which will hopefully give you some hope about Sammy's return. They can go for a long time without food and are very hardy, so try not to worry too much.

If you can't find what you want to know using the search option, then please don't hesitate to ask. We don't bite....much .

Well done for working out that pics are compulsory . They are both lovely, although I am biased towards Sammy because I have a ghost of my own . Hopefully this will help you put pics up on the forum without having to go via a link - How to post images using Photobucket ....although it is playing up at the moment .....So you need to look at this as well Photobucket update . You can also post pics via Facebook, just right click on the photo and select copy URL and add them between the [img] tags.

A word of warning, Sammy and Snowball won't be your last corns....they are addictive .

Xxx

Hi and welcome, I'm quite new here myself :)

Both of your snakes are beautiful, really hope Sammy turns up soon. Have you maybe tried just leaving a mouse next to a warm secure hide-type thing somewhere? Just thinking he might eat it and then go into the hide to digest so you can just scoop him up...

Just a thought anyway, and don't worry about him not eating for two weeks; I've heard they can go a very long time without food and suffer no permanent effects :)

Hi and welcome, nice looking snakes. A friend of mine had one escape and went missing for 3 months, he moved house and a month later his old landlord called and said the new people had found a snake in the house and was it his, he got it back non the worse! They can go months without eating so don't worry on that score.

1.2.4 Corn Snakes - Carolina, 2 x Bloodred het Lavender, Amel, Snow, Anery and Carolina.
0.0.1 Cali King - Ziggy - escaped!!

Hi there all,

Thank you all so much for the wonderful welcomes, this is such a nice forum :) Makes me feel very welcome here.

Still no news on Sammy. It's hard to stay positive, but I'll try to do so.

I'm going to be going for my first time holding little Snowball soon. I hope it goes well. I think I'll let him settle down for a little longer. Last time I changed his water, he tried to hide his face under his body. I felt so bad!
