I'm from South Wales too. I got mine off freeads. Had no problems with him. Best to look at other morphs though. I never realised there were so many until I'd already got George. Although he still remains my favourite.
Tbh I wouldn't advise any pet shops. Except Cymru Reptiles in Cardiff nr Canton. I've heard brilliant things about that place and their prices are very reasonable. May be worth a call. A quick google search should bring them up.
