So one of my adult males has been acting curious for the last couple of weeks. He has been constantly rubbing himself against the glass (note, he hasn't been rubbing his nose) and across it.
He seems quite restless, actually.
So I did the checks, temp, humidity, fresh water, good hides and surroundings, etc. It was a tad humid so I've improved the ventilation a bit and it's gone down to the perfect level again.
Regardless, he still insists and constantly wondering about and rubbing himself on the glass. He seems content when I open the vivarium doors and let him have a wonder around so I came to conclude that the little devil might just be in the breeding mood (you'll have to confirm with me) I mean, he has been doing the 'mating' jig of sorts in which he gets that jumpy movement.
So I came to conclude it's just a horny snake looking to release some tension, however, his weekly feed was quite unusual.
He loves his food and is the most incredible feeder I have - he is lightning quick, strong, accurate to the point of never having missed a shot, and can coil and swallow his food down before you know it.
However this weekend he was a bit of a pest to prompt into feeding, eventually he gave in and took the mouse and began to eat it so I do the usual and start feeding the others whilst he finishes his meal.
When I came back to him he hadn't actually eaten the mouse, instead he had gobbled up the head and then just spat it out. It wasn't a full regurgitate but he took part of it in and then just gave up and left it.
The size is fine with him, he can even handle a size up without much of a problem.
I've checked his nose and mouth, both are clear and he's doing his usual smelling. He's full of life, his eyes are clear, poop is fine, recal area is clear, no mites.
Is this just a snake being a snake? |

| sounds like a horny snake you have! my Oscar acted exactly how you describe. he has calmed down now, try not to worry, he'll calm down soon :-) |
