Oh my god. My husband just went upstairs and on the way past, looked in on Cornflake. She was completely stuck in part of her vine and was thrashing about like mad. After about 5 minutes we managed to cut the loop of the vine off her using nail clippers. It has left a dent in her and a couple of damaged scales. We put her back in her viv, minus the vine, and have left her to calm down. Do you think she will be ok. Am not sure how long she was stuck, as I last saw her about 4 hours ago when she was fine.

Do snakes go into shock? Is there anything I should look out for?

And just to make everyone aware, the loop of plastic was on one end of the fake vines from Dunelm. I had cable tied it to a bamboo cane, but the loop was still on it.  Please check your fake vines for plastic loops and cut them off.

I am so worried about her!

Awww poor snakey :( Don't worry I am sure she will be fine once she has hidden away for a bit. She may shed slightly earlier to get rid of the damaged scales. Thanks for the warning about the loop, loads of us use those vines :O

sure she'll be good-these snakes can recover very well. Thanks for the heads up on the loops
I place a 'penny washer' over the loop, then a screw through the washer to fix it in place in the viv-presto loop gone!

If you've got a bit of reptile healing aid/disinfectant then just put a little on the damaged area.
Corns are hardy little beasts and a few damaged scales won't make no nevermind to them.
